iGolf released version 3 of the firmware for the Neo along with version 3 of the sync application. I'm always hesitant to upgrade for the sake of upgrading (as a professional programmer I have little faith in our ability to produce quality software, especially with updates and upgrades), but version 3 is Mac compatible, meaning I won't have to lug my work Windows laptop home anymore. Alas, the Mac version of the sync doesn't work. Apparently it won't run on the Intel MacBooks, getting some errors about wrong architecture.
So it was back to Windows. But after the firmware update and the sync application update I could no longer sync. The application said the device was "connected" but refused to transfer the files over to the device. Finally figured out the problem: you have to install their USB driver. Even though the USB driver installation program says that the USB driver is already installed you need to go ahead with the installation. Then plug in the Neo and wait until Windows detects the new USB device. Finally the sync application works. Might have to restart your computer a few times for Windows to pickup the new USB device. Horrible installation/instructions.

I agree one hundred percent on the "Horrible installation/instructions." comment. The tech support by email was very quick to answer, thank goodness, (less than two minutes) and stuck with me until I was able to complete the download to my Neo. I haven't tried to download to my computer yet. I expect problems.
