Chappelle's Show has a cult following and I'm one of the its followers. So when I heard Dave Chappelle was back with a Netflix special I had to renew my subscription. But 10 years later I'm not sure if Chappelle is still the comedic genius I remember. The two episodes were funny but not that funny. Without my my fond memories how would I rate the current Dave Chappelle? I don't know, but probably not as high.
With my renewed Netflix subscription I also binge watched The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. It's been a couple of years since I've binge watched anything, that's how much I liked the series. But the same doubts entered my mind. Was it that good, or maybe just some cognitive biases at work. I mean who doesn't like Ross of Friends and don't want to see him succeed at portraying Robert Kardashian. Without my fond memories of the 90s how would I rate this made for TV series? I don't know, but probably not as high.
